Analyzing line graph

The following exercise is to analyze a line graph which shows fluctuations of money spent of books in Germany, France, Italy and Austria. The graphic starts from 1995 and ends in 2005 and the currency is US dollars.

The first country to analyze is Germany. The graph shows that Germany had been being the country which had spent more money than any other from the graph. From 1995 to 1999, the amount of money spent gradually increased from 80 million dollars to 90 million dollars. Then, the following four years, it decreased also gradually, from 90 million to 85 million. Finally, the graph shows that from 2003 to 2005, the money spent increased sharply from 85 million to 95 million in only two years.

Secondly, the country to be analyzed is France. This is the second country of the list that had spent more amount of money. It firstly starts with 55 million in 1995 and it slightly grew to 60 million in 1999. Then from 1999 to 2001 it rose faster getting to 70 million. Then it seems that the amount of money remained in 70 million for 2003. Then it grew gradually to 75 million for 2005.

The third country is Italy. It started with 50 million in 1995 and increased to 55 by 1997. Then it fell steady to be back in 50 million for 1999. Then it increased gradually getting to 60 million in 2005.

Finally, the last country to be analyzed is Austria. It started in 30 million in 1995 and steadily increased to 40 million by 1999. Then it remained steady until 2001, when it rocketed up to 60 million for 2003. Then it reduced the speed of growing but it still regularly rose getting to 70 million by 2005.

As a conclusion, we can see that all of the countries had increased the amount of money spent on books in the decade which began in 1995 and ended in 2005.
